Van Pelt is going with the home side, backing Georgia despite a 9.5-point spread (via <a class=\"thirstylink\" title=\"ESPN Bet Promo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.saturdaydownsouth.com\/link\/espn-bet-promo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-nojs=\"true\">ESPN Bet<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Off their worst performance of the season and back at home in Athens, we think one word sums up what we expect from Kirby Smart and Georgia,&#8221; Van Pelt said before cutting to a clip of the Bulldogs&#8217; coach saying &#8216;aggression.&#8217; &#8220;Dawgs land a good-sized chunk to Tennessee between the hedges.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/core\/video\/iframe?id=42399735&amp;endcard=false\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>SVP is 44-40-1 on the season for his picks.<\/p>\n<p>Georgia has been far less fortunate against the spread. The Dawgs are 2-7 against the number this season, which pretty effectively illustrates the kind of season it has been. Georgia is 7-2 overall, and still very much in the hunt for a College Football Playoff spot, but it hasn&#8217;t looked like its usual self outside of one-off routs of Clemson and Texas.<\/p>\n<p>Against Ole Miss a week ago, Georgia lost 28-10 on the road as quarterback Carson Beck played through a fourth consecutive game with a turnover. He was sacked a season-high 5 times by the Rebels.
