Trevor Etienne will not be available Saturday night for Georgia in a major showdown against Tennessee. That is a major blow to the Bulldogs, especially for an offense that continues to be inconsistent this season.<\/p>\n

Etienne originally sustained a rib injury against Florida and was limited to 9 offensive touches against Ole Miss. He only had 34 yards of offense in that game as Georgia managed just 10 points on the road.<\/p>\n

Now, Etienne has been ruled out for Saturday’s game against the Vols with Georgia confirming the news with Thursday’s availability report. An additional blow to the running back room was added with Cash Jones listed as questionable for the game.<\/p>\n

With Etienne limited against Ole Miss, Nate Frazier led the Bulldogs with 12 carries but only managed 47 yards and a long carry of 8 yards on the afternoon. Frazier is Georgia’s 2nd-leading rusher this season with 333 yards.<\/p>\n

Even if Jones is available to work with Frazier, he has mainly been used as a receiver when on the field. He has just 8 carries for 15 yards, and Dillon Bell, Georgia’s 3rd-leading receiver, is also the team’s 3rd-leading rusher with 104 yards on the ground.<\/p>\n

On the other side of the ball, Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava is still listed as questionable. However, ESPN’s Chris Low reported Thursday afternoon<\/a> that he expects Iamaleava to be available.<\/p>\n

Considering the issues for Georgia’s offense, and QB Carson Beck, it will be interesting to see how the Bulldogs try and attack the Vols Saturday night.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
