The LSU vs. Texas A&M rivalry was played annually in the Southeastern Conference’s West division. Starting in 2024, the SEC did away with divisions. The majority of the games between the 2 teams pre-2012 were non-conference bouts; however, once the Aggies joined the SEC, LSU and Texas A&M played every year.<\/p>\n

The 2 teams played first on December 2, 1899, with the Aggies winning 52-0. In fact, Texas A&M won the first 3 games in the series. However, LSU has seized control and currently leads the series 32-23-3.<\/p>\n

In the last 7 meetings between the Aggies and Tigers, the home team has won. LSU had to vacate 4 victories in the series (2012-15) due to NCAA penalties.<\/p>\n

One of the most well-known games in the recent series history came in the incredible 7-overtime game in 2018. The Aggies ended up winning 74-72. This back-and-forth game set an NCAA FBS record for most points scored in a single game and tied an NCAA record for playing in 7 overtime periods.<\/p>\n
