Known as the “Battle for the Golden Boot,” the LSU vs. Arkansas rivalry is one of the Southeastern Conference’s best rivalries.<\/p>\n

The first game of the rivalry was played in 1901, with LSU beating Arkansas 15-0. After Arkansas became a full-time member of the SEC in 1992, the 2 teams played annually.<\/p>\n

The Golden Boot Trophy was awarded to the game’s winner in 1996. LSU beat Arkansas that year 17-7. When Texas A&M and Missouri joined the conference in 2014, the LSU vs. Arkansas game was moved from the last weekend of the year. LSU now plays Texas A&M to close out the regular season.<\/p>\n

LSU leads the all-time series 42-23-2.<\/p>\n
